6 Gold Watches for Men

The ultimate in luxury watches are gold watches.  Gold is one of the rarest of elements found on Earth but it is durable and can last thousands of years with little tarnishing as can be demonstrated by the numerous artefacts found in museums around the world.  Gold watches for men and women have proven to be the most sought after of watches, with only a few able to afford these divine time pieces. There are some that are so stupendous, not only because they are made of gold but because of the meticulous attention paid to their design.  Then there are gold watches that add that extra va va voom to an already distinguished collection offered by watch makers the world over.

Rolex Submariner

The Rolex Submariner with a blue dial in gold is perfection on a wrist.  Over millenniums royalty have combined gold and dark blue and the Rolex Submariner is a classic examples of how these noble colours work together.  Incidentally, gold is one of the elements classified as such by scientists in the Periodic Table. This watch has a bracelet combining traditional brushed and polished looks of 18 carat gold, with a brush 18 carat gold case, a super buckle, again in 18 carat gold with a glide lock.  The blue dial set off beautifully with luminous marker and hand hands. It truly is the crème de la crème in gold watches that any owner would proudly wear.

Rolex Day-Date

The Rolex Day-Date is gold, gold, and gold which might sound ostentatious, far from it.  This watch is the definitive in gold watches for men and there is no mistaking the quality of the piece.  What sets this watch apart from all gold watches and even the Rolex Submariner is that is it clearly for those special occasions or for someone who is special or extremely successful at what they do.  As with the Submariner the bracelet and case are 18 carat gold, but as are the hands. It has distinguished markers and set with diamonds. Pure class. Words are not enough to say how wonderful this watch is.

Hublot Spirit of Big Bang King Gold Grey

This Hublot watch is a great combination of gold and black, surprisingly with a black rubber bracelet, but not just any rubber.  Beneath the dial are visible some of the mechanics of the watch in grey that add that element so precious and appealing to scientists, engineers and anyone who has a passing interest.  With the popularity of The Big Bang Theory television programme around the world this watch fits that image of expertise at the highest of levels in their field, as shown by the characters in it.  In front of the dial are the luminescent markers and hands al in an 18 carat gold case.

IWC Portugieser Automatic Dark Grey 18 Carat Red Gold

This superb IWC watch offers something that not any other watch makers provides and that is the attractive 18 carat red gold that is so eye catching because of its uniqueness.  The Portugieser Automatic Dark Grey has a slate grey dial which is a marvelous background for the red markers, Arabic numbers and polished case with a 7-day power reserve. It is a classic round-faced watch that is stunning.

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony

Vacheron Constantin have been making watches since 1755.  This Swiss watch maker has been providing luxury watches to royalty and historical figures for centuries, including Edward VIII, Napoleon Bonaparte, Pope Pius XI and Harry Truman.  It’s a manufacturer not necessarily with the world reputation in this market compared to what is described as the leader in luxury watches – Rolex. However their past wears is testament to the level of quality that this watch maker offers.

The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony does, on the outset, seem to be an odd choice of name, implying that it is an inheritance, as the price tag that is probably accurate.  The Patrimony is another classic round faced watch and has been around since the 1950s. Inspired by Vacheron Constantin models apparently. The 18 carat pink gold case, pink gold markers and hands are exquisite with an almost minimalistic style and undeniably chic.

Grand Seiko 9R Spring Drive SBGD202

The Grand Seiko 9R SBGD202 is considered to be the pride and joy of Seiko.  It has an 18 carat rose gold case, with matching markers and hands, including a second hand at set on a black or white dial.  The black version has tiny particles of gold dusted across the surface to twinkle like stars at night. It has 56 jewels in deep ruby.  With all of the that this watch is robust, has been made to be resistance to shocks and has an 8-day power reserve which is indicated on the movement bridge.  It isn’t cheap, and why would it be with such superb features.
